Zackary K. Martinkus, 29, a resident of Fall River, died unexpectedly at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River on Saturday, February 12, 2022 after suffering complications from diabetes. Son of Roger J. Martinkus, Jr. and his wife Marianne of Bedford and Shelly A. (Mihulka) Veazy and her husband Timothy of San Bernadino, CA, he was born in Sacramento, CA and raised in Middleboro and Bedford. He was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 2010. He also spent 9 months at Job Corps in Maine. Zackary was a co-host of Wrestling Connection on Bedford Cable Television. He was a food preparer at TGI Friday's in Mansfield for the past 3 years. He enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music, watching movies and social media posts. He also loved winning clocks at his family's annual Yankee Swap at Christmas time.
In addition to his parents, Zackary is survived by his children, Z.J. Martinkus and Scarlette Martinkus both of Fall River. He was the brother of Victoria Martinkus of Ft. Worth, TX, Lucia Martinkus and Lukus Martinkus both of Bedford and Emily Veazy of San Bernadino, CA. He was the grandson of Roger and Theresa (Fullerton) Martinkus of Fall River, Dee Mihulka of Ridgecrest, CA and the late Mark Mihulka. He is also survived by his former wife, Whitney (Roda) Martinkus, his aunt, Barbara Avila and her husband Scott, his cousins, Adam and Ryan Avila and Christian Pierce as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 18 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Zackary's memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
