Winifred M. Henderson

Winifred M. (Roberts) Henderson, 88, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Kindred Hospital in Stoughton after a short period of failing health. Born, raised and educated in Chelsea, she was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1945. Mrs. Henderson moved to Stoughton with her family in October, 1963 from Jamaica Plain. She was employed as a clerk in engineering, for the New England Telephone Co. from 1945-1952. She later worked for the United States Post Office in several different locations from 1956 until her retirement in 1987. During this time she served as Officer In Charge of the Woodville, Humarock, and Ocean Bluff, MA branches. She retired as U.S. Postal Service Safety Officer. A devoted and beloved grandmother, in her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Helen A. Henderson of NV, Ralph T. Henderson and his wife Charlene and Neal J. Henderson all of Stoughton. Daughter of the late Joseph C. Roberts and Laura A. (Jones) Roberts, she was the sister of the late June L. (Roberts) Jackson. Mrs. Henderson was the grandmother of Mitzi M. Whittington, Dwayne T. Henderson, Tamra H. Rodriguez, Shaina L. Henderson, and Aaron J. Henderson. She was the great grandmother of Tiana and Myshara Whittington, Elijah Rodriguez, and Mason McLean.
