William H. Whynot

William H. Whynot, 89, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Braemoor Health Care in Brockton on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He was the husband of the late Marian D. (Salisbury) Whynot. Born and educated in Newton, he earned his degree in Engineering from Northeastern University. Mr. Whynot was an Aviation Radio Man in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. He resided in Stoughton for the past 60 years. He was the owner of Wynacht Bros. Leather Goods in Stoughton for over 50 years before retiring 12 years ago. He collected rare tropical fish and loved traveling the world with his daughters and son-in-law.
Mr. Whynot is survived by his daughters, Carol A. Nasif of Milford and Sheila M. Correia and her husband Anthony of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Dawn, William, Carol and Ilene. He was the brother of Jeanne Maher of Northboro and the late Kenneth Wynacht, James Maxwell, Helen Bonney, Dorothy Rising and Marguerite Smith. He is also survived by his 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, August 23 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
