William Wafalsky, 95, a resident of Brockton, died at Copley at Stoughton on Wednesday, April 17. He was the husband of the late Janie D. (Bayne) Wafalsky. Born in Cambridge and raised in Somerville, he was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1935. He was a resident of Stoughton for 50 years before moving to Brockton several years ago. Mr. Wafalsky was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of World War II. He was a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, 4 Bronze Service Stars and a Purple Heart. Mr. Wafalsky was a Foreman for the U.S. Postal Service at the South Postal Annex in Boston for 32 years before retiring in 1973. He was a member of the D.A.V., the V.F.W., the 26th Division YD Club of Boston and the 101st Infantry Club. He enjoyed thoroughbred racing.
Mr. Wafalsky was the brother of the late Helen Andruchow, Peter J. Wallis and Sonia Twetkow. He was the best friend of the late Angelyn Zienko. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
