William B. "Brad" Stoddard, 90, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Saturday, May 17 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Frances (Mitkievicz) Stoddard. Born and raised in Brockton, he was a graduate of Brockton High School. He was a resident of Easton for over 50 years. Mr. Stoddard was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a veteran of World War II. He was a salesman with Canada Dry for several years and then Sunshine Biscuit Co. for 23 years before retiring in 1979. He was a Scout Master with Boys Scout Troop 76 in Easton for over 20 years. After retirement he spent summers at Camp Squanto in Plymouth. He was a longtime communicant and lector at Immaculate Conception Church in Easton.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Stoddard is survived by his sons, Charles K. Stoddard and his wife Susan Zito of AZ and Peter E. Stoddard and his wife Sally Mrkvicka of WI, as well as his grandchildren, Jezerick, Emily and Abigail Stoddard. He was the brother of the late Margaret Ostiguy, Geraldine Brunnetti, Edward, Frank, Charles, John, Mel, Mary and Ann Stoddard.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, May 22 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7 PM. Donations in Brad's memory may be made to Boy Scouts of America, 2438 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in North Easton.
