William F. McCarthy

William F. McCarthy, 78, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Jeanne F. (Cusack) McCarthy. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dedham. He was a resident of Hyde Park for over 30 years before moving to Stoughton in 2004. Mr. McCarthy worked as a Salesman for National Cash Register for over 25 years, retiring at age 59. He also worked part time at Kelly's Liquor Mart in Hyde Park for many years. An animal lover, in his free time he enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and spending time with his family. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his hometown teams.

Mr. McCarthy is survived by his children, William McCarthy and his fiancé Denise of Dedham, Karen M. Burke, John McCarthy, Paul McCarthy all of Stoughton, Anne Marie Johnson and her husband Thomas of Franklin, Terri A. Golden and her husband Dennis of Norwood, Robert McCarthy and his wife Beth of Milford, Kevin McCarthy and his wife Cathy of Mansfield and Suzan B. Nicholson and her husband Richard of Stoughton. He was the brother of Eugene McCarthy of Wareham, the late Richard McCarthy and Eunice Montgomery, and brother-in-law of Mary McCarthy and Joseph Cusack. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews,

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 5 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
