William J. Madden, Jr., 73, a resident of Middleboro, died at Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton on Tuesday, August 20. He was the husband of 43 years of Cynthia J. (Jones) Madden. Born and raised in Lynn, he was a graduate of Lynn schools and the Mass. College of Pharmacy in Boston. He was a resident of Middleboro for the past 6 years after living in Stoughton for 33 years. Mr. Madden was a pharmacist at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 10 years before being the Director of Pharmacy at Harvard University Health Services for over 10 years. He retired in 1995. He loved running and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Madden is survived by his children, Pam A. Madden and her husband Chad Roach of Bridgewater and Brian M. Madden and his wife Michelle of Middleboro, as well as his grandchildren, Neila Roach and Boston Madden. He was the brother of JoAnne Adamo of Salem, John Madden of Ipswich, James Madden of Las Vegas, NV, Alice Odachowski of Lynnfield and the late Dorothy Madden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, August 26 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private.
