William J. "Hoody" Hood, 75, died Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. Born and raised in Stoughton, he was a longtime resident of Stoughton and attended Stoughton Schools. Mr. Hood was a longtime, dedicated employee of Rolls Royce Marine in Walpole, working as a Welder and as a Maintenance Man. He retired 3 years ago. Bill was a fan of Nascar Racing, especially Dale Ernhart and Jeff Gordon, WWE Wrestling, Johnny Cash and John Wayne. In his free time, Bill enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, eating hot dogs and Devil Dogs and was an animal lover. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his beloved grandchildren.
Mr. Hood was the father of Bonnie M. Wuschke and her late husband Philip of Stoughton and Michael P. Hood of Waltham. He was the loving Grampy of Vivian Wuschke and Philip Wuschke V of Stoughton. He was the brother of Cathy Hatch and her husband Bryce of Brockton and is also survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and his dog Odie.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday from 4-6 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 6 PM. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Neponset Valley Humane Society, PO Box 544, Norwood, MA 02062.
