William "Butch" St. Germaine, 73, died Saturday, May 24, at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a short illness. He was the husband of Dolores A. "Dolly" (Fossella) St. Germaine of Brockton. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools, Class of 1952. Mr. St. Germaine also attended Boston University. He was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. St. Germaine worked as a Master Plumber for Local 276 for over 42 years, retiring in 1996. He was a resident of Brockton for over 49 years. He could often be seen driving around in his red shiny "Lightning Truck." A fan of the Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots, in his free time he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, walking and cars. He also enjoyed working in his yard and, above all, spending time with his grandson and his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Suzanne Mullen and her husband Christopher of Rockland and Loreen Hardiman and her husband Paul of Brockton. He was the brother of Lorraine Curry of S. Yarmouth, Lois Gibans of NC and the late Eugene St. Germaine. He was predeceased by his parents Oscar St. Germaine and Christine (Cunningham) St. Germaine. He is also survived by his stepmother Olive St. Germaine, his grandson William Hardiman and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, May 29 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein Church, Brockton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7 PM. Donations in Butch's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will be at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
