William L. Croke, 77, died Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, after suffering complications from a fall. Son of the late Francis M. and Catherine I. (Cairns) Croke, he was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury and Dorchester. He was a graduate of Roslindale High School and Massasoit Community College. William served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was a longtime resident of Bridgewater and previously lived in Stoughton. He owned Commonwealth Office Products in Stoughton for 10 years and was also a food broker for Merkert Enterprises for several years. William was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater and he enjoyed dining out.
William was the father of Kellie A. Croke of Assonet and the late Brian W. Croke and the grandfather of Emma Croke, Evan Bedard, Ethan Bedard, Elise Bedard and Brenna Croke. He was the brother of the late Francis J. Croke and is also survived by his nephew, Shawn Croke.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic a private Funeral Mass will be held with a burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to the Boston Carmel, 61 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Roxbury, MA 02119.
