William H. Coulter

William H. Coulter, 83, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Copley at Stoughton on Tuesday, February 10 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Catherine M. (Flynn) Coulter. Born and educated in Boston, he was a graduate of Boston English High School. Mr. Coulter was a Gunner's Mate in the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War II. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1951. Mr. Coulter was a starter on the Red Line with the MBTA for 37 years before retiring 18 years ago. After his retirement he worked part time for Randolph Savings Bank for over 10 years. He was a longtime communicant of St. James Church in Stoughton. An avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, he enjoyed working in his yard and traveling.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Coulter is survived by his children, Nancy A. Puckett of Avon, William J. Coulter and Mary Coulter-Bennett and her husband Steven Bennett all of Stoughton, Jean L. Rachlen of Canton and Joyce M. Coulter and her husband Robert Blackmon of Randolph, as well as his grandchildren, Catherine, Daniel, Thomas, Hollie, Kendall and Mia Qi. He was the brother of Mary Gould of Raynham, Ruth Flaherty of Bridgewater and the late Robert Coulter and Helen Broulard. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 14 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
