William J. Cole, 91, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (O'Brien) Cole. Son of the late Charles and Anna (Keefe) Cole, he was born and raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1949. Bill was a Seaman in U.S. Navy and a Veteran of the Korean War. He resided in Brockton for over 60 years. He worked for Mason-Neilan in Norwood for over 30 years before retiring at age 62. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed reading and spending time at the Oak Lounge in Brockton.
Bill is survived by his children, William J. "Jim" Cole, Jr. and his partner Peter of Brookline, Jan M. Cole-Uhl and her husband Ralph of Taunton, Lynne A. Cole and her partner Marcel of Lexington and Donna M. Cole of Portland, OR. He was the grandfather of Christopher Uhl, Jessica Cole, Hollie Urbaschak and Michael Urbaschak. He was the brother of the late David Cole and Charles Cole, Jr. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 4th from 9:30-11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM.
