William J. Ciesla, 92, died Saturday, March 22 at the Bay Path Nursing Home in Duxbury. He was the husband of the late Mary (Kearns) Ciesla. Born in Morgantown, WV, he was educated in West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University. He was a resident of Duxbury for 4 years, previously living in Chandler, AZ for 14 years and Stoughton for over 40 years. Mr. Ciesla worked as a foreman for J.W. Wood in Stoughton for many years, retiring in 1978. Over the past few years, he was active at the Duxbury Council on Aging. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and cribbage, cooking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his three daughters: Mary E. Owens and her husband John of Milton, Nan M. Tonaszuck and her husband Walter of Bourne and Eileen F. Parsons and her husband William of AZ. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton prior to the mass from 9-10 AM. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
