Wayne R. Madan, 77, a resident of Bridgewater, died peacefully at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Thursday, September 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jo-Ann M. (Powers) Madan for 57 years. Son of the late Arthur R. and Esther L. (Christmann) Madan, he was born in Brockton and raised in Stoughton. Wayne was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1965. He was a lifelong resident of Stoughton before moving to Bridgewater 5 years ago. Wayne worked for the Town of Stoughton for 47 years, retiring as the longest tenured employee in town in 2011. He was a longtime member of the Board of Stoughton Town Employee Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed playing golf and cornhole and traveling but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Michael W. Madan and his wife Jean of Mansfield, James J. Madan of Uxbridge and Kerry A. Matta and her husband John of West Bridgewater as well as his grandchildren, Shawn Madan and his fiancé Becky, Liam Madan, Declan Madan, Caitlin Madan, Abby Matta and Maeve Matta. He was the brother of Roy Madan of Harrisville, RI, Martha Hensley of Carver and the late Elizabeth Chaplain. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, September 28 from 9:30-11:30 AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne‘s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 (www.cancer.org).
