Warren Winship, age 70, of Norton, former long-time North Easton resident, died on April 17, 2015, surrounded by family at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospice after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Zaiser) for 45 years. Warren was an amazing man, husband, father and grandfather.
Born and raised in Brockton, the son of the late Donald S. and Beatrice (Totman) Winship, Sr., he graduated from Brockton High School and RETS Electronics School in Boston. Warren was employed as an electrician for several years and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in North Easton, retiring many years ago.
He proudly served in the US. Air Force and was a member of V.F.W. Post 2547, North Easton, and a member of St. George Masonic Lodge. He volunteered for many years with the Easton Civil Defense. Warren loved traveling with his wife, especially to U.S. National Parks, and cruising. They particularly enjoyed cruising the Alaska Inside Passage this past August with the entire family. Warren was a member of the First Parish Universalist Church of Stoughton.
In addition to his wife, Warren is survived by two daughters, Karin Carlino and her husband Michael of Glastonbury, Connecticut, and Jennifer Gomes and her husband Antonio of Norton. He adored his three grandchildren, Amanda and Lauren Carlino and Mason Gomes. He was predeceased by his brother Donald S. Winship, Jr. and sister Eleanor (Winship) Chase.
The family would like to thank the many talented and loving medical teams that helped him and his family through this journey. Their support along with family and friends near and far helped the family get through difficult times.
Visiting hours will be on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rte 27), Stoughton. There will be a memorial prayer at 8:00 p.m. Donations in Warren's name may be made to First Parish Universalist Church, P.O. Box 284, Stoughton, MA 02072. Graveside services will be private.
