Warren F. Dahlin, Sr., born March 7th, 1916, died peacefully, at his home of nearly 95 years in Stoughton, MA on Oct. 19. He and his late wife of 61 years, Peg (Gillis) founded and owned Designer's Metalcraft for over 45 years until his retirement in 1991. He helped develop the first artificial kidney machine and the first Ergometer taken into space, which now resides in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and he held patents on two of his many inventions. He graduated from Franklin Institute in 1936. He and Peg summered at Parkwood Beach, Wareham and wintered in Naples, Florida. His loving survivors include Warren, Jr. and his wife, Michele (Delcolliano); granddaughters, Ingrid and her husband Dennis Doherty and Emilia and her husband Aaron Frederick; two great-grandchildren, Bridget and Colin Doherty, and a beloved brother-in-law, Jim Gillis. Also dear friends and caring neighbors, Nancy and Dara, John and Sandra, Emil, Danna and Dana, Karen and Tom, Bob, Evelyn and Kai, Sammy, Louise and Linda.
According to his wishes, a private graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. As per his request, in lieu of prayers or flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Barbara Luttid O'Donnell Scholarship for Disabled Students at Stonehill College, 320 Washington Street, Easton, MA 02357.
