Walter L. Rush, 78, died July 16, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 55 years of Ann M. (Hayes) Rush. Born and raised in Medford, he was a graduate of Medford Schools and also attended Northeastern University. Mr. Rush was a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. Rush worked as a Banker for over 45 years at Broadway National Bank in Chelsea and then at Baybank in the Operations Center. He retired in 2002. Several years ago, he was very active in Stoughton Youth Hockey, donating countless hours both as a coach and as an administrator. In his free time he enjoyed playing hockey and softball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan M. Amaru and Barbara A. Ilacqua both of Stoughton, Richard W. Rush and his wife Maureen and Christine M. Krim and her husband Edward all of Easton. Mr. Rush was the brother of Audrey Haver of OH and the late Mary Audrey Rush. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday at 10:30 AM. A Visiting Hour will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton prior to the Mass from 9-10 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
