Walter N. Jackson, "JW" (Jolly Wolly), 76, a longtime resident of Brockton, lost his battle to cancer on Thursday, December 8. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Brockton for 27 years after living in Whitman for 22 years. A retired machinist, he was an active member of the UAW Retired Workers Union, Local 470.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Muriel E. (Tansey) Jackson, three daughters, Heather J. Martin and her husband Thomas of Brockton, Holly L. Kidd and her husband Mitch of Alabama and Heidi B. Zachow and her husband Randy of Wisconsin, four grandchildren, Jared and Kayla Martin, Jackie and Jillian Kidd and three step-grandchildren, Randy, Ryan and Stephanie Zachow. He was the foster brother of Doris Hayward of Bridgewater and John McCrillis of Connecticut. He was the brother of the late George Jackson, Robert Jackson and Evelyn Rizer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, December 14 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
