Walter V. "Vinnie" Campbell

Walter V. "Vinnie" Campbell, III, 58, a former resident of Stoughton, died January 20, 2012 in Florida after a brief illness. Son of Eileen (Doran) Campbell of Stoughton and the late Walter V. Campbell, Jr., he was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Stoughton High School, Class of 1971. He was a graduate of Massasoit Community College, Class of 1975 and South West Institute of Criminal Justice in Miami Beach. Mr. Campbell was a Lieutenant Commander with the Miami Beach Police Department before retiring 3 years ago. An avid Boston sports fan, he especially liked the Patriots and loved spending time with his sons and family.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Campbell is survived by his sons, Christopher and Ryan Campbell of FL. He was the brother of Suzanne Simms and her husband Paul of Natick, Audrey Norris and her late husband Gifford of Plymouth, Paula Campbell and her fiancé James Gibbs of Stoughton, Lisa Campbell Robb and her husband Andrew of W. Yarmouth and the late Karen Ann Campbell. He was the nephew of Virginia Dempsey and the late Richard Dempsey. He was the uncle of Joshua Campbell, Jennifer Norris Paglia, Jason Norris, Jonathan Simms and Shane Robb. He is also survived by his former wife, Claudia Campbell and several cousins.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 18 from 9-10 AM followed by a Memorial Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Donations in Vinnie's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
