C. Virginia (Wenstrom) Young, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Thursday, September 17, 2015. She was the wife of 64 years of the late Lauren W. "Larry" Young. Daughter of the late Walter Matti Wenstrom and Margaret Isabel (MacDonald) Wenstrom, she was born in Dorchester and raised in Quincy and Newton, graduating from Newton High School, Class of 1945. Mrs. Young was a resident of Stoughton since 1959. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ginny was a very active parishioner of Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton, where she was a former member of the Shuffler's Club and the choir and also taught Sunday School. She was a founder of Young's Boutique and organized annual Prayer Garden maintenance at the church. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader. Ginny spent many wonderful summers with family and friends on Lake Ainslie in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and was a lifetime member of the Lake Ainslie Historical Society.
Mrs. Young is survived by her children, Neil L. Young of Norton, Gail A. Price of Phoenix, AZ, Judith Ceven and her husband Paul of Brockton, Bruce Young and his wife Maryanne of Stoughton, Diane Young and Mark Young and his wife Michele all of Bridgewater and Dawn Tsiofas and her husband John of Toronto, Canada. She was the sister of Carol Hamilton of Warren, David Wenstrom of Newton and the late Ruth Vulk, S. Eunice Wenstrom and Margaret Reneau. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St., Stoughton, MA 02072 on Saturday, September 26 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at the Trinity Episcopal Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church at address above.
