Virginia M. (Hannan) Tosca, 89, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Tosca. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1942. Mrs. Tosca was a resident of Brockton until 1961 when she moved to Stoughton. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 40 years. Mrs. Tosca spent several winters in Bonita Springs, FL and many summers in Chatham. In 2001, she moved full time to Chatham. Through the years, she worked at several area businesses, including at A& A Construction where she was a longtime bookkeeper. An avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, in her free time, she enjoyed ballroom dancing, square dancing, line dancing, playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her two sons, Gerard Tosca of Sandwich and Jeffrey Tosca and his wife Paula of Marion. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Margery Ring. She is also survived by four grandsons, five great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 12 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
