Virginia Rita (Stallings) Thomas, 92, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Heights Crossing Assisted Living and Memory Care in Brockton. She was the beloved wife of Andrew H. Thomas for 52 years, who passed away in 2009. Born in Boston, daughter of the late Joseph Crawford Stallings and Mary (Rooney) Stallings, she was raised by her great uncle and aunt, Thomas and Mary Kennedy of Milton. Mrs. Thomas was a longtime employee of the Stoughton Public Schools and was an avid reader and gardener.
Mrs. Thomas was supremely devoted to her family and was the loving mother of Judith Bodette and her husband Joseph of Stoughton, Lawrence Thomas and his wife JoAnn of Easton and Martin Thomas and his wife Cathi-Ann of Quincy. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicole and Nathan Bodette of Stoughton, Victoria Thomas of Easton, Erin Thomas Kirschenbaum of New York City and Elizabeth Thomas Powdrill of Austin, TX. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, May 16 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
