Virginia (Costa) Sousa

Virginia (Costa) Sousa, 97, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Jose Sousa Jr. Born and raised on the island of Santa Maria in the Azores, she was a longtime resident of Santa Maria. She was a homemaker. In 1995, after the death of her husband, she moved to the United States and settled in Stoughton. She has been a resident of Stoughton since that day. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Sousa is survived by her children: Manuel Sousa and his wife Ana Maria of Canada, Antonio Sousa and his wife Ana da Concecao of Portugal and Maria Helena Sousa and her husband the late Manuel of Stoughton. She was predeceased by 6 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Sousa was the beloved grandmother of Ana Adamo, Lucia Sousa, Elsie Sousa and Stephanie Sousa. She was the great grandmother of Corey, Brandon and Carley Raymond and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Monday, January 8 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday, January 7, from 3-6 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. .
