Virginia J. (Capone) Gambrazzio, 93, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Francis P. Gambrazzio. Born and raised in Walpole, she was a graduate of Walpole High School, Class of 1940. Mrs. Gambrazzio was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She also worked for Hills Stores in Canton and for Plympton Press in Norwood for several years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, playing bingo, cooking, traveling to Foxwoods and spending time with her family.
She was the beloved mother of Virginia "Joan" Averill of Randolph, Francine A. Hayes, Anna Gambrazzio and Debbie Tiso all of Stoughton, Paul Gambrazzio of Bellingham, Elaine M. Gambrazzio of West Yarmouth, formerly of Abington, Nancy C. Craig of Raynham and David C. Gambrazzio of Freetown. She was the sister of Anthony Capone of Walpole, Annie Palato of Needham and the late Daniel Capone, Silvio "Red" Capone, Benny Capone, Louise Lorusso and Molly Giandomenico. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Virginia's caregivers Fran Amado and Carla Chavez and to her wonderful neighbors for their care and support over the past few months.
Funeral Prayers will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-6 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Virginia's memory may be made to the Life Choice Hospice, 460 Totten Pond Rd, Suite 390, Waltham, MA 02451.
