Virginia M. Britton

Virginia M. (Bowers) Britton, 87, died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Britton. Born in Lowell, she was raised an educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell Schools. She was a resident of Canton for over 10 years, previously living in Attleboro, Ohio and New Jersey. She was a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, bowling and watching sports.
She is survived by her children, Sharon M. Britton and her partner Keith Washburn of OH, Robert E. Britton and his wife Sandra of Stoughton, William J. Britton and his wife Lisa of NJ and Kevin R. Britton and his partner Daphne Thurston of NH. She was the sister of the late John "Jack" Bowers and Dorothy Polak and the grandmother of Christopher Britton and his wife Deborah, Kaitlin Britton and her partner Steve Hoffmaster, Zachary Britton and Taylor Britton.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 10 AM Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to Alzheimer's Assn, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
