Virgil Susie McKenzie

Virgil "Susie" (Karavas) McKenzie, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. She was the wife of Gerald F. McKenzie. Born in Boston, she was raised in Roxbury and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for 54 years. Susie was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. McKenzie is survived by her children, Diane L. Karafotias of Sharon, Nicholas P. MacKenzie and his wife Patricia of Canton, Elizabeth A. "Lily" Coelho and her husband Arthur of Stoughton and Christopher G. MacKenzie and his wife Robyn of Foxboro. She was the grandmother of Andrea N. Coelho, Nicholas P. MacKenzie, II and Danielle L. MacKenzie. She was the sister of Dorothy Gatturna of Stoughton and the late Beverly Kelley and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, May 4 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Brockton at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Susie's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
