Victoria (Demirjian) Yaghmourian, 104, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, after a period of declining health. Born in Adana, Turkey, as a baby she escaped the Armenian Genocide with her family and settled in Beirut, Lebanon. She was raised and educated in Beirut and also lived in Jerusalem for several years. In 1944, she married Vahe Yaghmourian and together they spent over 50 years married and raised their 5 children, before his death in 1999. 1n 1960, they brought their young family to the United States and settled in Newton. They later moved to Stoughton in 1983. Victoria was a longtime seamstress at Bigelow Cleaners in Newton, retiring many years ago. Her upbringing and childhood allowed her to be exposed to many cultures and led her to be fluent in 5 languages. Victoria loved children and she also enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing and Bingo. Her favorite times were surrounded by her beloved family.
Victoria is survived by her children, Hermine “Mina” Kouloyan and Haroutioun “Harry” Yaghmourian and his wife Olga, all of Stoughton, Sonia Wigmore and her late husband Edward of Northboro, Silva Budryk and Susan Meed and her husband Paul, all of FL. She was the sister of Mary Coffey of TN and the late Khachik Demerjian and Onnig Demerjian. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10-11 AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11 AM.
