Victoria M. Rivers

Victoria M. (Barnes) Rivers, 60, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, November 4 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Michael J. Rivers. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in South Boston. She was a graduate of Suffolk University, Class of 1972. Mrs. Rivers was a resident of Stoughton for the past 24 years. She was a teacher for 15 years before retiring 5 years ago. In her free time she enjoyed reading and listening to music.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rivers is survived by her son, Patrick M. Rivers of Canton. She was the sister of Sandra Barnes of Hull and the late Joseph T. Barnes, Jr. and James Barnes. She is also survived by several nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, November 10 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Victoria's name may be made to the American Lung Assn., 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
