Victor Manuel Avelar Medeiros, 74, a resident of Brockton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, November 16. Son of the late Manuel and Maria (Serpa) Medeiros, he was born in Pico, Azores, Portugal. He was educated in Faial schools, as well as Boston schools and graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He also earned an Industrial Arts Teaching Degree from UMass-Boston. Mr. Medeiros was a resident of Brockton since 1989 after living in Stoughton for 20 years. He was an engineer at Haemonetics Corporation in Braintree for 23 years before retiring in 2001. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Medeiros is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Medeiros and his sister, Maria Manuela Goulart of Brazil. He is also survived by his former wife, Lidia Silveira as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, November 19 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
