Vasco C. Avelar

Vasco C. Avelar, 84, died at the HPH Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, FL on Thursday, December 18, 2014. He was the husband of the late Maria L. (Freitas) Avelar. Born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal, he resided in Stoughton for over 30 years before moving to Florida 3 years ago. Mr. Avelar was a machine operator at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for over 15 years before retiring many years ago.
He was the father of the late Lidia F. Avelar. He was the brother of Roque Avelar of Taunton and was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, December 23 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
