Umberto Ferrara, 61, died at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Friday, October 28 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Adele (Petrilli) Ferrara. Born and educated in Italy, Mr. Ferrara was a resident of Stoughton for 20 years. He was a laborer in the construction industry before becoming disabled 10 years ago. He was a member of the Mass. Labor Union, Local 51 in Cambridge. In his free time he enjoyed hockey and cars.
In addition to his wife Adele, Mr. Ferrara is survived by his daughter, Cristina Ferrara and his son, Steven Ferrara, both of Stoughton, as well as his brother, Vittorio Ferrara of Argentina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Olga Ferrara.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery in Boston.
