Timothy W. Doherty, 58, died peacefully at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on August 4, 2018 after a period of failing health. Son of the late John A., Jr. and Margaret R. (Lawler) Doherty, he was born, raised and educated in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and later lived in South Boston and Dorchester. Tim worked as a pile driver for Union Local 56. Tim was a friend of Bill W. for over 24 years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Kelley, his granddaughter's, Trynitee Rose and Fayth Margaret Doherty, his brothers and sisters and all his nieces and nephews that he loved so much. Tim was a man of faith and had a passion for helping others.
Mr. Doherty is survived by his daughter Kelley A. Doherty of Halifax and his two grandchildren, Trynitee Rose and Fayth Margaret Doherty. He was the brother of John A. "Jack" Doherty, III and his wife Rennie of Saugus, James A. Doherty of Massachusetts, Mary M. Ball of Stoughton, Kathleen A. Doherty of Mansfield, Michael Doherty of California, Patrick Doherty and his wife Cathy of Stoughton, Margaret R. Doherty of Abington, Joseph P. Doherty of New Hampshire and the late Teresa E. Doherty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, August 9 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
