Thomas J. Urell, III, 78, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of 54 years of Nancy (Hall) Urell. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Newton and a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1954. While at Newton High, Mr. Urell was a Varsity Letterman in Football, Baseball and Track. He was a Proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Urell was a Heating Sales Engineer and was part owner of Urell, Inc. in Watertown. A longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Stoughton, he served on the Board of Trustees and was a Past President of the Ice Breakers Club. He was an avid golfer and car lover who was devoted to his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Urell is survived by his two daughters, Tracey J. Myers and her husband Michael of Bellingham and Kristen L. Fisher and her husband Welves of Shrewsbury. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Kiery, Jack, Juliana, Hunter, Emma and Craig. He was the son of Rose Marie (Nutbrown) Urell of Newton and the late Thomas J. Urell, Jr. He was the brother of Roger N. Urell of Wayland, R. Douglas Urell of Newton and the late Alan R. Urell.
Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, September 8 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in Tom's memory may be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 401 Park Dr., Suite 602, Boston, 02215.
