Thomas E. Rogerson, Jr., 77, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, April 19. He was the husband of Margaret E. (Welch) Rogerson. Son of the late Edward Thomas Rogerson and Catherine (Halibozek) Rogerson, he was born in Roxbury and educated in Boston schools. He was a resident of Jamaica Plain for over 30 years before moving to Stoughton in 1994. Mr. Rogerson was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a grocery clerk at Stop & Shop for 42 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the VFW Post 722 in Jamaica Plain. An avid Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots fan, he loved people and his daughter's dogs.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rogerson is survived by his children, Thomas E. Rogerson, III of Weymouth, Deborah A. Converse and her husband Wayne of Stoughton, Michael F. Rogerson and his wife Loren of Abington and Maureen M. Rogerson of Brockton. He was the grandfather of Eric, Dylan, Molly, Daniel, Heather and Tara and great-grandfather of Devin. He was the brother of Joan Kent of Westboro and uncle of Thomas and Joseph Kent.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, April 23 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
