Thomas E. Powers, 56, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center in Milton on Thursday, October 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the son of Patricia A. (Durgin) Powers of Stoughton and the late Francis E. Powers. Born in Boston, he was educated in Stoughton schools and graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton. Tom was an iron worker with the Local 7 in Boston for 28 years before retiring 2 years ago. He was an avid Boston sports fan.
Tom was the brother of Francis E. Powers, Jr. and his wife Priscilla of New Hampshire, Patricia A. Davis and her husband James of Middleboro and the late Robert F. Powers and Joseph E. Powers. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Eileen Powers and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Tom's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
