Thomas J. Powers, 64, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 16, at his home in Weymouth. He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary C. (Lyons) Powers. Born in Medford, he was raised and educated in Stoughton Schools. He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1961 and was the Valedictorian. He also graduated from Northeastern University with both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Powers worked as an Electrical Engineer for Teradyne in Boston and Reading for over 30 years, retiring at age 58. He was a resident of Weymouth for over 28 years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his sister, Jo-Ann M. Madan and her husband Wayne of Stoughton. He was the uncle of Michael Madan, James Madan and Kerry Matta.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, April 19 at 10 AM Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Donations in Tom's name may be made to the charity of one's choice. Burial will be private.
