Thomas E. McLaughlin, Sr., 63, a resident of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 6, 2015. He was the husband of Donna M. (Ciarmataro) McLaughlin. Son of the late John J. and Ellen M. (Riley) McLaughlin, he was born in Boston and was a lifelong resident of Dorchester before moving to Stoughton 3 years ago. He was a graduate of South Boston High School. Thomas was a Private 1st Class in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the General Mail Facility at South Station for 15 years before retiring 7 months ago. He was a member of the D.A.V. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his children, Thomas E. McLaughlin, Jr. of W. Warwick, RI and Dawn M. Keyser and her husband James of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Riley M. Keyser and D.J. Keyser. He was the brother of Michael McLaughlin, Catherine McLaughlin, Claire McLaughlin and Theresa Joyce and her husband Stephen all of Quincy, Mary McLaughlin of Norwood, William McLaughlin of Falmouth, Janet McLaughlin of Dorchester and the late John F. McLaughlin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, November 13 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas' memory may be made to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Dr., Triangle, VA 22172.
