Thomas M. Chestnut, 84, died at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth on Sunday, February 12 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Winnifred M. (White) Chestnut. Born in Stoughton he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1941. Mr. Chestnut was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a supervisor at JW Wood in Stoughton and then Johnson & Johnson in Georgia for many years before retiring 22 years ago. He lived in Stoughton for over 40 years before moving to Carver after his retirement. Mr. Chestnut was a past President of Stoughton Historical Society. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, traveling and collecting antiques.
Mr. Chestnut is survived by his cousin, William Chestnut of Stoughton. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 2-4 PM.
