Theresa M. (Andrade) Camara, 81, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died October 1, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. She was the wife of John E. Camara. Born in Brockton to the late Joseph Andrade and Jesuina (Mendes) Andrade, she was raised in Stoughton and is a 1952 graduate of the Stoughton High. Theresa worked as a payroll clerk for Draper Brothers and Tamfelt in Canton for many years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of the Stoughton Historical Society, the Busy Bee Sewing Club and was a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed volunteering at the Stoughton Food Bank and the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She loved knitting, sewing, painting, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Theresa was the beloved mother of Paula C. Collins and her husband Peter of Shrewsbury, John E. "Ted" Camara and his wife Kimberly of N. Easton, and the late Pamela Camara. She was the sister of Maria Jardin and Dolores Rodrigues both of Stoughton and Celia Andrade of Canton. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to McKegg Collins, Tucker Collins, Carrie Camara and Joseph Camara. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours: Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.
