Theresa (Andrews) Butler

Theresa (Andrews) Butler, 75, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at her home in Brockton, after a long period of failing health. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Roxbury and was a graduate of Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. She was also a graduate of Culinary Art School. Mrs. Butler was a resident of Brockton for the past 3 years, previously living and raising her family in Dorchester. She worked as a Bus Monitor for the City of Newton for many years, retiring in 2013. Mrs. Butler was a dedicated volunteer at several food pantries in Roxbury, including St. John’s, 12th Baptist and Grant AME Food Pantries. She also worked for many years as a babysitter. She was a talented cook and enjoyed making meals for friends, family, and neighbors. She enjoyed playing cards with family and enjoyed watching television the series Empire, American Horror Story and any anime or science fiction shows. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and, in her free time, enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

Theresa was the mother of Tamara Andrews of Brockton, Willie Butler, and his wife Lashonga and Jermall Butler, all of Dorchester and the late Tiffany Butler.  She was the sister of Richard Andrews, Jr. and his wife Eleanor of Lawrence, Grace Andrews, and Joy Andrews, both of Dorchester and the late Greta Andrews, Joan Andrews and Tallulah Morgan and brother-in-law Arthur Morgan, Jr. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, November 2 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior to the Services from 10-11 AM.
