Theodore J. DiRenzo, 84, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at his home after a short illness. He was the husband of 60 years of Ann M. (Hennessey) DiRenzo. Born and raised in Brockton, he was a graduate of Brockton High School, where he was an accomplished member of the Baseball Team. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. DiRenzo was a longtime resident of East Bridgewater, before moving to Stoughton 10 years ago. He worked as the Meat Manager for several area Shaw's Markets for many years, before retiring several years ago. Previously, he worked in the same capacity for Fernandes Markets in East Bridgewater and Easton. Mr. DiRenzo was a lover of baseball and continued playing throughout his days in the Army in Germany and played Legion Baseball for many years. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers, FL for the past 10 years. In his free time, he enjoyed walking and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, William J. DiRenzo of Ft. Myers, FL and Carolyn A. Batte and her husband Michael of Stoughton. He was the beloved grandfather of Bianca A. Batte and Michael W. Batte, Jr. He was the brother of Marie O'Brien of Brockton and the late Carolyn Moreau. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Private Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
