Teresinha R. (Cabral) Correia, 88, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Joao Correia, Jr. Born in Madeira, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Madeira. As a young mother, her and her husband Joao, with their twin sons, moved to Brazil for seven years and then returned to Madeira. In 1969 they moved to Venezuela. Mrs. Correia came to the United States in 1976 and settled in Stoughton. She learned English, worked at Shawmut Mills, got her license and became a US Citizen and voted in many elections. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. Mrs. Correia was a member of the Portuguese National Club in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, playing cards with her grandchildren and spending time with her beloved family.
Mrs. Correia is survived by her two sons; Cid Correia and his wife Alda Theresa and Jordan Correia and his wife Maria all of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Joshua, Janessa, Christopher and Allison Correia and the great grandmother of Dylan, Tyler and Rowan. She was predeceased by her 5 sisters; Benvinda, Maria, Isabel, Conceicao and Agostinha.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, June 29 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
