Teresa E. (Sly) Cotter, 89, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at her home, the home she was born in, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Joseph I. Cotter Jr. She was born and raised in Stoughton, a graduate of St. Mary's School and Stoughton High School. Mrs. Cotter was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was an avid fan of all of Boston's Sports teams and, in her free time, enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family and friends.
She was the beloved mother of Joseph I. Cotter III of Scituate, Kevin W. Cotter of Boston, Richard D. Cotter of Dennis, Mary T. Cotter and William P. Cotter both of Stoughton and Patricia A. Bismore of NH. She was predeceased by 2 sisters and is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton, of Friday, January 30, at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in her memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, 02368.
