Taylor E. Smith-MacLellan, 29, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, after being stricken ill at her home in Stoughton. She was the wife of Kevin M. MacLellan. Born in Southfield, Michigan, daughter of Rev. Lawrence L. Smith and Michele Brathwaite-Smith, she moved with her family to Stoughton in 2004 and attended and graduated from Stoughton Schools, Class of 2013. Taylor then attended Liberty University for 3 years and was working toward her Bachelors degree from Southern New Hampshire University, SNHU. SNHU was a big part of her life and for the past 3 years, in addition to attending SNHU, she also worked as an Admissions Counselor there, helping students to make life altering decisions regarding their education and future. It was a job that she loved and thrived at. Taylor had an uncanny ability to connect with her fellow students and clients and help them in a time of change and decision. Personally, Taylor was an avid reader who devoured books of all kind, but had a special love for history. She also enjoyed historical documentaries and had a passion for crime shows, both true and fictional. Taylor was a loving and devoted mother, and the most important part of her life revolved around her children and her family. They all looked forward to their annual Florida Trip and loved their days and nights spent together at the Disney Parks and Properties. Taylor’s greatest love was to be surrounded by her entire family.
In addition to her husband Kevin MacLellan, she is survived by her children, Roman M. Hampton-Brown, Luca Dre MacLellan and Lilah Jo MacLellan, and her parents, Rev. Lawrence L. Smith and Michele Brathwaite-Smith, all of Stoughton. She was the sister of Sr. Chief Adrian C. Smith, US Navy and his wife Desiree of CA, Logan L. Smith of FL, Nina M. Smith and her partner Ronnie Welch of Randolph and Petty Officer First Class Shelby Michele Smith, US Navy of MD. Taylor was the daughter in law of Joanne and Robert MacLellan of Stoughton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
