Sylvia (Gimpel) Casserly, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Friday July 23, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 84. Mrs. Casserly was the loving wife of Thomas F. Casserly.
Born in Stoughton on June 26, 1926, Mrs. Casserly was the daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel (Favor) Gimpel. She was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Mrs. Casserly was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Casserly is survived by four sons, James L. and his wife Susan of Pepperell, and her triplet boys, John E. and his wife Patti of Stoughton, Robert A. and his wife Marryanne of Middleboro, and Thomas F. Jr., and his wife Jane of Hawaii. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 28 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8pm. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
