Summer J. Leavitt, 10, died unexpectedly at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI after a lifelong battle with Cerebral Palsy. She was the beloved daughter of Carole L. (Mahoney) Leavitt of Providence and the late Kenneth A. Leavitt, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a livelong resident of Rhode Island. Throughout her young life, Summer continually amazed family, friends and medical professionals with her ability to battle and always beat the odds and no matter what the circumstances, did it with a smile on her face. In addition to spending time with her family, extended family and friends, she also enjoyed music and Tinkerbell.

In addition to her mother, Summer is survived by her brother Kenneth Allen Leavitt, Jr. and her sisters, Aleasha Leavitt and Nicole Leavitt both of Providence, RI and Amanda Leavitt-Pacheco and her husband Manny of Seekonk. She was the granddaughter of Alice Sharp and her husband Fred of Foxboro, Robert P. Mahoney of IN and the late Julie Albright. She was the beloved niece of Debra Desmarais and Kerri Melendez both of Mansfield, Susan Lindsay of Sharon, Donna Mahoney of Foxboro and Robert Mahoney Jr. of OH. She was the great granddaughter of the late Eleanor Vantham and Sadie Vasile. Summer was blessed to have four special angels in her life in the persons of Donna, Kelly, Kerry and Sam. She is also survived by her niece Stasia and many cousins.

Funeral Service will be held in the First Congregational Church, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton on Sunday, July 8 at 6 PM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Summer's memory may be made to United Cerebral Palsy, 71 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA, 02702 or to the National Children's Leukemia Foundation , 7316 Avenue U, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11234.
