Steven D. Schauerte, 33, passed away tragically on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, after suffering from an industrial accident at work. He is survived by his mother, Maryanne (DeMatteo) Ball and her husband Richard of Foxboro and his father, James D. Schauerte and his wife Melissa of VT. He was the stepson of the late Louis J. Francioso. Born in Norwood, he was raised in Walpole and was a graduate of Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 5 years. Mr. Schauerte worked as a welder for Air Draulics Engineering in Randolph, previously working for Newman Associates in Canton. Steven enjoyed welding and customizing automobiles and motorcycles. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by his siblings, Gabriella Francioso of Dedham and Franco Francioso of RI, Tyler Schauerte of Walpole and Aurora Schauerte of VT. He was the grandson of David and Donna Schauerte of Sharon and the late Anthony P. "Steve" DeMatteo and Marilyn DeMatteo. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte 27) Stoughton on Sunday, August 5, at 5 PM. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Prayers on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Donations in Steven's memory may be made to Evan Foundation, 82 Main St., Norfolk, MA 02056.
