Stephen F. Nestor, Jr., 75, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich on Thursday, April 12. He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Haley) Nestor. Born in Boston, he was educated in Boston and Arlington Schools. He was a priest for 3 years after graduating from St. John Seminary. He earned his Master's Degree in Special Education as well as his C.A.G.S. from Boston University. Mr. Nestor served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. He was Director of Vocational Education at Silver Lake Regional High School for over 30 years before retiring in 2004. He also was a consultant at Brockton High School. He was active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and enjoyed gardening, camping and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Nestor is survived by his children, Stephen F. Nestor, III and his wife Karen Vincent of N. Attleboro, John M. Nestor of Canton, Glenda A. Nestor of Brockton and Kathleen E. Nestor of S. Boston. He was the brother of Peggy Silva of Billerica and Marilyn Jablonski of NJ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, April 17 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 3-6 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
