Stephen M. Cullen, 53, died Saturday, March 8 at the Quincy Medical Center in Quincy after accidentally being hit by a car while helping a stranded motorist. He was the husband of the late Denise (Dobbins) Cullen. Born in Brockton, he was raised and educated in Abington. He was a graduate of South Shore Vocational Technical School. He was a member of the U.S. National Guard. Mr. Cullen worked as a Carman for Amtrak for several years. He also worked at Bob's Foodmart in Stoughton. Mr. Cullen was very active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton as a volunteer and also in the St. Anthony Food Pantry. He was a member of the Abington Grange, the Abington Militia and was a former Boy Scout Leader. A Red Sox Fan, in his free time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children; Alycia Cullen of Abington and Stephen M. Cullen, Jr. of Stoughton. He was the son of Emma (Zakrzwska) Cullen of Abington and the late John Cullen. He was the brother of Andrea L. Keohane and her husband Frank of Falmouth and John A. Cullen and his wife Darlene of Marshfield. He is also survived by his granddaughter Cindy Averill and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 13 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Steve's memory may be made to St. Anthony's Food Pantry, 2 Park Ave., Stoughton, 02072.
