Stephen J. Buckman, 44, died accidentally on Sunday, April 16 while working to repair power lines in Sharon. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of West Roxbury High School. Mr. Buckman was a resident of Hyde Park for over 10 years after growing up in Roslindale. He was an Outside Plant Technician with Verizon in Foxboro for over 25 years. He was a member of Elite Fitness Club in Stoughton and the IBEW Local 2222.
Mr. Buckman is survived by his children, Jessica L. Buckman, Stephen "Tony" Buckman and Cody K. Buckman all of Stoughton as well as his mother, Agnes V. (D'Arcy) Buckman of Holbrook and his siblings, Elizabeth A. Petrillo of Franklin, Joanne M. Grady and Joseph J. Buckman both of Holbrook, Thomas J. Buckman of Plymouth, Richard J. Buckman of Norwood, Paul M. Buckman of Attleboro and Carolyn M. Burns of Abington. He is also survived by his dear friend, Lena A. Khalek of Stoughton and his former wife, Jane C. (Staula) Buckman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Buckman.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, April 21 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Canton Corner Cemetery in Canton.
